Government - Educational Facility Planned Maintenance
Multi-trade planned maintenance across multiple school buildings
Educational Facilities Standards Guidelines (EFSG), National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian Standards
Glendore Public School needed a comprehensive planned maintenance program delivered across multiple buildings — simultaneously, safely, and in an active school environment. NSW Schools Infrastructure engaged Gordon Plumbing Solutions to manage and deliver the full scope of works across B Block, D Block, F Block, and two demountable toilet facilities.
This wasn’t a single trade job. It required precise coordination of multiple trades, strict compliance with EFSG and NCC requirements, careful scheduling around students and staff, and full documentation at handover. GPS managed it all — on time, on spec, and to the standard NSW Schools Infrastructure expects.
Glendore Public School is a multi-building campus, and our scope touched almost every corner of it.
Across two of the school’s classroom blocks, we replaced wall linings throughout — pulling out the old material and installing fresh, fire-rated acoustic panels from floor level up to 2.1 metres. Where linings above that height had started to lift and separate, we re-adhered those too so the finished result was clean and consistent throughout. Doors and surrounds across both blocks were fully prepared and painted — dozens of them in total, from single classroom entries through to double doors opening into shared spaces.
The school hall got a full refresh. We repainted the stage area and all surrounding wall surfaces, worked through every door and door surround in the hall precinct, and replaced the carpet in two rooms — pulling up the old flooring, disposing of it properly, and laying new EFSG-compliant carpet tiles that will stand up to years of school foot traffic.
The two demountable toilet blocks were completely refurbished from floor to ceiling. New vinyl flooring was laid with a coved finish at the wall base — the detail that separates a quality job from a quick fix. All painted surfaces were prepared and repainted, every piece of stainless steel was commercially polished back to a shine, the stair treads were replaced with FRP grating and anti-slip nosing for safety, and every mirror in both blocks was swapped out for new acrylic panels.
By the time we handed the keys back to NSW Schools Infrastructure, Glendore Public School had a campus that looked and felt like it had been properly looked after.
Works across four separate building blocks coordinated to minimise disruption to students and staff. Noisy and disruptive works scheduled appropriately, with clear daily planning to keep the school operational throughout the program.
Wall liners, painters, flooring contractors, and fitout trades coordinated under GPS project management — single point of accountability for NSW Schools Infrastructure from start to finish.
Full WHS compliance throughout, including daily site risk assessments, appropriate safety fencing and barricades during works, and complete removal of all safety infrastructure, debris, and construction materials at project completion.
All materials and works specified and delivered to Educational Facilities Standards Guidelines and National Construction Code requirements — non-negotiable in a government school environment.
Full handover package submitted to NSW Schools Infrastructure, including:
- Operation and Maintenance materials and manuals
- Guarantees for all installed works and materials
- Complete site clearance and waste disposal certification
Most plumbing businesses stay in their lane. GPS doesn’t.
This project demonstrates that Gordon Plumbing Solutions has the organisational capability, the government relationships, and the project management discipline to take on complex, multi-trade contracts for NSW Schools Infrastructure — and deliver them to the standard a government client expects.
Being BuyNSW approved, Supply Nation Certified, and NSWICC Assured means GPS can be engaged directly for projects like this, no lengthy tender process, full compliance confidence, and an Indigenous-owned business supporting the school community at the same time.
