When NSW Schools Infrastructure commissioned a new drinking water installation at Hunter River High School, they didn’t just want a functional bubbler -they wanted something that reflected the cultural identity of the school community and celebrated First Nations art in a meaningful, lasting way.
Gordon Plumbing Solutions was engaged as the installing contractor, responsible for the full supply and installation of the commercial Aquafil bubbler unit -complete with a striking Indigenous artwork backsplash that now stands as both a functional piece of school infrastructure and a visible celebration of Aboriginal culture within the school environment.
The finished installation is hard to miss. Vivid blues, teals, and deep earth tones carry a bold Indigenous circular dot art design across the full face of the unit -making what could have been a standard piece of school furniture into something the whole school community can connect with.
Full supply and installation of a commercial-grade Aquafil multi-outlet bubbler unit with stainless steel trough, drainage, and drinking outlets -installed to NSW Schools Infrastructure standards and compliant with all relevant Australian Standards for potable water fixtures in educational facilities.
Installation of the purpose-designed Indigenous artwork backsplash panel to the bubbler unit -a vibrant design featuring traditional circular dot art patterns in blues, teals, and greens, celebrating Aboriginal culture and creating a visually significant landmark within the school grounds.
Full connection of the new unit to existing cold water supply and drainage services, pressure tested and commissioned to ensure reliable, safe drinking water delivery for students and staff.
All works completed to NSW Schools Infrastructure requirements, Educational Facilities Standards Guidelines (EFSG), and AS/NZS 3500 potable water standards.
This installation sits at the intersection of two things Gordon Plumbing Solutions genuinely cares about -quality trade work and the celebration of Indigenous culture in the communities we serve.
As a 100% Indigenous-owned business, GPS understands the importance of seeing First Nations identity reflected in the spaces where young people learn and grow. Being trusted by NSW Schools Infrastructure to deliver this installation -where the finished product is visible to every student at Hunter River High School every single day -is something the GPS team is proud of.
It’s also a demonstration of something GPS brings to every government project: the ability to handle not just the plumbing, but the full scope of a sensitive, detail-oriented installation where the finished result matters as much as the compliance behind it.
